Past grant recipients include:

Central Tibetan Relief Committee, Dharamsala, India.  CTRC supports the welfare and development of Tibetan refugee communities in India.  Through CTRC, The Dalai Lama Trust has supported building and materials costs, and clean water facilities, at the Central School for Tibetans in Chandragiri, Orissa.

 Tibetan Children’s Educational and Welfare Fund, Dharamsala, India.   Established in 1985 to provide for the welfare and education of Tibetan children in India and Nepal.   The Dalai Lama Trust has embarked on a five-year partnership (2011-16) with TCEWF to provide educational opportunities for young Tibetans for research and professional studies in India and Nepal.    The grant supports scholarships to 48 students per year to pursue formal and non-formal research studies as well as professional education in a wide range of fields.

Sarah College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Dharamsala, India.   Since 1998 Sarah College has educated young Tibetan students in the fields of Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan studies, with the integration of modern subjects, global perspectives, and practical skills training.   The Dalai Lama Trust has committed to providing scholarships for 20 students per year (2011-14) at this important center of learning.

The Emory-Tibet Science Partnership, a land mark undertaking for the convergence of science and spirituality. The grant supports the design and implementation of a comprehensive science education program for Tibetan monks and nuns, to broaden their circles of knowledge and further a dialogue between science and religion. With new tools, Tibetan monastics will be better positioned to translate Tibetan Buddhist contemplative knowledge in a practical way to engage with broader communities and to alleviate suffering.

Center for Investigating Healthy Minds, University of Wisconsin-Madison, a research center at the forefront of a new hybrid discipline --  contemplative neuroscience. In a global era where individuals and communities are reconnecting with the pursuit of well being and contentment, the Center offers facts and analysis on methods and interventions, grounded in both scientific research and the wisdom of contemplative traditions.
